One of the first things Allison told me on the day of their engagement shoot was how she introduced Lawrence (Law for short) to her family. Her grandma told them that they’re like the “perfect chocolate chip cookie.” And I couldn’t agree more. The perfect pairing and comfort. It’s little things like this that I remember about the couples that I work with. I love getting to know about their favorite people, their favorite memories and even their hardships. This moody engagement session took my breath away. I am so incredibly grateful and honored to work with couples like you. You fuel our passion and breathe meaning into our images.

Spotlight: Moody Engagement Session

Allison and Lawrence’s moody engagement session was a captivating display of raw emotion and understated beauty. As the overcast sky cast a soft, diffused light over the landscape, every moment became infused with a sense of intimacy and depth. The absence of harsh sunlight allowed their love to take center stage. Believe it or not, overcast is actually a photographers dream. It limits harsh shadows, dark lines and unappealing lighting. Alli and Law really lucked out with the weather on this day. It was perfection. We decided to have the session in the morning. When the sun did peak through, it casted a soft dreamy light over the two of them – one of the perks of an early morning shoot!

From the start of the session these two exuded real and natural emotion. We got the perfect mix of genuine laughter and more serious sentimental moments. They’re laughter, their love, and their personalities were electrifying. If it’s done right, you won’t only be our clients on your wedding day, but also our friends. And I am so happy to call Allison and Lawrence mine. —Alyssa
