Keirstin and Mike’s unique outdoor wedding in Baltimore was the kind of day that instantly had our team feeling inspired. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this celebration was going to be full of personality, creativity, and a whole lot of joy.
Instead of avoiding the bright afternoon light, these two leaned into it. The direct high sun created bold shadows and dramatic light that made every moment feel a little more cinematic. A lot of couples worry about harsh sunlight on a wedding day, but honestly, it can be so much fun to work with when you know how to use it.
Playing with direction, movement, and shadows allowed us to capture moments that felt artistic, relaxed, and completely authentic to them. Our team is always ready for any lighting scenario, and days like this are a reminder that sometimes the most unexpected conditions create the most memorable photos.
One of our favorite parts of the day happened when Keirstin and Mike stepped out onto the dock together. No pressure, no posing marathon, just the two of them walking, laughing, and even dancing for a minute by the water.
Those in-between moments are what we love most about documenting a unique outdoor wedding like this one. It’s important to us that you don’t just look amazing in your photos, but that you actually feel comfortable and present while they’re being taken.
Because the truth is, the best images always come from genuine connection, not perfectly posed moments.
They celebrated with their friends and family at Douglas Maritime Park in Baltimore, Maryland, which is definitely not your typical wedding venue. And that’s exactly what made it so special.
Choosing a space that feels a little different instantly creates a more memorable experience for everyone involved. As part of your vendor team, we love when couples choose something that reflects their personality and gives us room to get creative.
Some of the most Pinterest-worthy photos happen when couples stop worrying about doing everything “the right way” and simply enjoy their day.
So here’s our little note to current and future couples planning their unique outdoor wedding: make it fun.
Skip the traditions that don’t feel like you. Keep the ones that do. Build a day that reflects your story instead of someone else’s expectations.
When couples focus on being present with each other and the people they love most, that’s when the real magic happens.
Keirstin and Mike looked incredible on their wedding day, but what stood out even more was how fully they soaked in every moment. Their celebration was a beautiful reminder that a wedding day is about the start of something lasting.
And we’re always honored to be there documenting the beginning of that story.
