Taylor & Mike specifically asked their lead photographer for very candid and movement focused photos. Their fall wedding was an absolute joy to photograph, allowing us to really push our creativity boundary. Taylor is a photographer herself and truly appreciates the notion of a “perfectly imperfect photo” representing the impermanence of a moment. Sometimes it’s more important to capture a feeling than it is to capture just a pretty moment. We are all imperfect, and as we all know, those are typically some of our favorite things about our partner.
One of the best things about art is that it is subjective. Every time a person looks at a photo, a painting, sculpture, etc, they are bringing something with them. They are viewing the work of art through the lens of their beliefs, life experiences, emotions, personality, etc. A fall wedding is the perfect opportunity to play around with bold color, unique decor, and original attire. Taylor and Mike had a perfect fall day with beautiful weather. And of course, they themselves were pretty stunning too. We loved the simplicity of Taylor’s dress and how her beauty seemed effortless. Historic Ashland was a beautiful setting to capture such a special couple on their wedding day.
All photographers want to deliver traditionally well composed and technically correct photos. Those are equally as important, but we also want to challenge ourselves within our craft and give a piece of ourselves to each couple we work with. After all, you’re not just hiring a photographer, you are hiring an artist. Thank you to all of our couples for trusting us and allowing us to share our unique talents with you. We are all human, just looking for a little bit of love and a purpose. And couples like you give us both.
“There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment.” – Robert Frank
