Where to begin with the most incredible elopement experience we’ve ever been a part of?! Dave and Christine are that couple you feel like only exists on Instagram. They are beautiful inside and out, they love to travel and have been to countless countries together, conquering mountains and sand dunes alike. Their adventurous spirits are exactly what lead them to choosing to have an elopement in Alaska. Although, the funny thing is, they didn’t always want to go that route when it came to their wedding day.

At first, Dave and Christine actually had booked us for their traditional wedding that was going to take place in Philadelphia. Picture your typical church ceremony in a cathedral and a reception in one of the most prestigious ballrooms in the Philadelphia area. That’s what they had all planned out for their day.
Then COVID happened…

Plans for an Elopement / Vow Renewal Emerge

Like many other couples when the pandemic hit, Dave and Christine had all of their original plans flipped completely upside down. What now? Well, they had to take a step back and ask themselves some hard questions. Did this big wedding really fit what they always dreamed of when it came to getting married? were they being true to themselves? Or were they just spending a ton of money for the sake of fitting a mold or pleasing family?

They took a risk, followed their hearts and when the world shut down, that didn’t stop them. They reached out to us and we met them in Alaska! We all hopped on a helicopter and they shared vows on epic glacier. It was so magical! At the end of it all, they had no regrets in the way their plans changed. This was really what they wanted all along. We couldn’t be happier for them!

So couples, take notes, if it doesn’t feel like YOU… don’t do it. The “wedding” of your dreams should look however and wherever you want. This was an incredible day filled with adventure, spontaneity and genuine love. —Kristen
