Doesn’t this session give you Pride and Prejudice vibes?! This engagement session, from the very showed that Caitlin and Jager trusted me enough to think outside of the box and get super creative. And we were excited to create together! I love to get to know little quirks about my couples and what makes them tick. Little things like this really make a big difference and allows me to fully prepare for their special day ahead. We talked about how beautiful Pride and Prejudice imagery is. Caitlin and I also bonded over our mutual love for Taylor Swift’s All Too Well Short film.

Check out these tips on how to level up your engagement session …

• Think of it as a date day – what are a few of your favorite things to do together that you can include? A quick coffee stop, a drink at your favorite local bar, or maybe just a walk through the park. Make it personal.
• Consider the time of day for your session – do you want warm golden hues? Then sunset is the perfect time for you. Or maybe you want dreamier soft lighting. Then you probably want to consider a morning session, or possibly even a sunrise engagement!
• Be flexible to new ideas – if you allow your photographer to try something that feels a little awkward to you, chances are it looks ten times better than you can imagine. Trust your photographer and have fun creating magic together.

These two were so fun to photograph and their chemistry was amazing. We laughed so much together, especially when they popped the bottle of champagne it accidentally sprayed all over my camera! I can’t wait for their wedding day. If their engagement session was this steamy, I can only imagine how beautiful their wedding day is going to be. —Larissa
