Michelle and Stanley were set to have their wedding in May of 2020. Well as you all know 2020 has been one heck of a year …
What was supposed to be a more traditional type wedding, turned into an outdoorsy elopement.Covid-19 hit and lots of spring and summer weddings had to be postponed or even cancelled. Michelle and Stanley’s wedding was of course included in that. They made the really difficult decision to postpone their wedding until May of 2021. Planning a wedding for sometimes a whole year in advance is a lot of work. So to have to move it and wait a whole other year is such a bummer. Our hearts are so broken for all the couples that had to change their original wedding plans.
However, Michelle and Stanley decided that they weren’t going to let a pandemic take away their wedding date. The date became so special to them that they couldn’t bare the idea of losing that special connection to May 24, 2020. Soooooo… they made the last minute decision to elope! They booked an AirBnb, hired an officiant and got us to document the day. Although their close friends and family weren’t there to celebrate with them in person, they all gathered on a Zoom call to watch the ceremony live. They even got to see Michelle and Stanley share their first dance together. Although an elopement wasn’t in their original plans, it turned out beautifully.
The day was bittersweet. It was so so special because it brought the focus of their wedding day to the forefront and most importantly – their commitment and love . However, they missed their family deeply. Michelle and Stanley had the best day after all. Despite changed plans and a pandemic, their family still got to witness this special moment. It just looked a bit different than usual. And next year, they’ll be celebrating one year married at their wedding reception, surrounded by all of their loved ones, friends and family!
We are so honored to have been able to capture such a beautiful and intimate wedding elopement ceremony. We are SO excited for round two next year! Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Baguchinksky.
