Effe and Chris are the type of kind-hearted people that anyone can get along with. We instantly felt a connection with them and their laid back and fun persona made it super easy to capture the emotional candid moments of the day. The best way to guarantee that you are going to receive images that you love from your day is to be completely authentic in front of the camera. It’s okay to feel camera shy but if you lean into the moment with your partner, you will see just how fast those butterflies fade away. That is when the magic happens and the true emotion shines through.
The intimate church ceremony combined with the after party was a formula for perfection. The colorful contrast of the church and Effe’s wedding dress was jaw-dropping. After the ceremony, we loved the way their family and friends made them feel like superstars as they exited the church. They were showered with love (and some benjamins) on the dance floor as they partied into the evening.
One of our favorite elements of their wedding day was the special traditions they kept to as a Greek family. They weaved Greek culture into every part of their day. From food to dance, and religious customs, they had set a priority to embrace and celebrate the meaning of their culture. During the ceremony, the priest placed a crown on Effe’s head and then Chris’s. After, the crowns are intertwined three times to symbolize the union between them. They also incorporated the wedding dollar dance. Effe and Chris danced in the middle of the room and their family and friends rewarded them by throwing out bills. We love experiencing culture and being involved with so much beauty.
Love and friendship is one thing we don’t take for granted. The best things in life are free.
Effe and Chris, thank you for inviting us into the experience of a lifetime. We are so lucky to serve couples like you two.
We always feel so honored when we get asked to photograph weddings, because weddings are such a personal experience. But weddings especially like Savanna and Hunter’s make us feel like we’re even a part of the family. Savanna and Hunter opted out of having your traditional large wedding and instead had about 12 people, close friends and family surrounding them on their wedding day. It was so intentional and made the day even more meaningful.
Savanna and Hunter have been through a lot together and you can tell their love will go the distance. They’ve been together since they were both really young. Getting to capture their vows under the twinkle lights on a night that literally seemed like the most perfect fall ambience was so beautiful. The moments captured were real, raw and romantic.
Their ceremony was by the lake, behind one of the cabins at Mountain Springs Lake Resort in the Poconos. It was absolutely stunning! Savanna looked jaw dropping-ly beautiful in that dress. Her photos even got featured on David’s Bridal!
The intimate wedding night ended with all of us in the cabin, watching a slideshow of photos from their childhood together to present day. It was so special. Forever honored to be a part of capturing love stories like Savanna and Hunter’s.
