As the founders of DBW, we've spent a lot of our career dealing with the hustle and bustle of big weddings. Through the years we've seen it all, and for some couples, it's just not worth all the stress. Sometimes the best weddings and memories are created in a meaningful and beautiful location, surrounded by no-one else or just a handful of loved ones that mean the most to the two of you. Take it from us, these are always the types of weddings that leave a lasting impact. In 2022, we've decided to take a step back and focus on photographing and filming destination weddings, elopements, and small intimate weddings. By doing this we're able to connect more with the couple and truly produce our best work.
Where to begin with the most incredible elopement experience we’ve ever been a part of?! Dave and Christine are that couple you feel like only exists on Instagram. They are beautiful inside and out, they love to travel and have been to countless countries together, conquering mountains and sand dunes alike. Their adventurous spirits are exactly what lead them to choosing to have an elopement in Alaska. Although, the funny thing is, they didn’t always want to go that route when it came to their wedding day.
Talk about a complete vibe. These two knew what they wanted and went for it. Their venue was a small restraunt in Philly with beautiful greenery and top of the line meals. Victoria and Ryan fully indulged on the day of their wedding.
A micro-wedding has the unique ability to make everyone feel like family, even if you’re not. It’s such an intimate and emotional experience that you naturally create connections with all of the guests there.
We were blessed to get to know Victoria and Ryan and some of their closest family and friends. During couples photos they escaped to the bar and had a sweet moment just for the two of them. Such a perfect way to end a perfect day.
If a big wedding isn’t what you imagine, something small can be just as beautiful. Celebrate your day exactly how you imagine.
Talk about flair and funk. Maura’s charisma and spunk matched with Casey’s genuine and calm demeanor perfectly. These two chose to spend their special day with those who mean most to them and leave out the stress of planning the nitty gritty.
At the end of the day, getting married is really all about you two coming together. When you get married, whether it’s just the two of you eloping or a small wedding in your backyard with a few special family members & friends… it strips away all of the “ extra stuff” of a traditional big wedding. Elopements & intimate ceremonies allow for a more meaningful, authentic wedding day that’s a true reflection of your relationship—where the focus of the day is really just your love.
Vitaly + Natalie were such an amazing couple to work with. They traveled from Germany to Iceland to elope in this incredible country. We had the opportunity to photograph and film the day from start to finish. It was an unforgettable experience. We’re so excited to share everything very soon! Can’t wait for our next destination.
Our best friends Brianna and Zachary got married! When they asked us back around Christmas we obviously couldn’t say no. It was a total secret and only a few family members knew.
We got to attend the Adventurers Workshop, hosted by Maddie Mae and Abbi Hearne. We drove through Phoenix, a land covered in giant cacti, then Flagstaff, where it was snowing, and then finally we arrived in Page. It was amazing!
After months of trying to plan a regular wedding in Philadelphia, Dave and Christine decided to follow their hearts and elope. So we ventured out via a helicopter and they got married in the most beautiful Alaskan landscape.
Shawn and Teara decided on having an intimate destination wedding in Ocho Rios, Jamaica at The Moon Palace. Despite the pandemic, they remained hopeful to have their dream wedding. We all left our homes in PA and hopped on a plane to Jamaica.
