When I asked Becky where she wanted to have her engagement session, she didn’t skip a beat. Downtown Bethlehem! “It’s not necessarily a special spot for us, but I think it’s beautiful.” Well, little did I know that she grew up in those very same streets!
When we met up at the Moravian Church, Becky and Aaron seemed a little anxious and ready to get it over with. Before I was done greeting them, Becky was already asking “Okay! Where to first?!” I reminded them to take a moment to think about everything they had experienced together. Everything that had led them to this moment. I asked them to think about the journey they’re about to embark on as husband and wife, and what that means to them. Smiles crept across their faces and as their focus transitioned from me, back to each other, the warmth of carefree romance washed over them, and I knew they were ready!
It wasn’t long before there were tears (in everybody’s eyes)! The love they have for each other, I think, is something we all crave. It’s beautiful and simple, but so so deep. It’s that quiet, scrunched nose, laced fingers, belly laugh kind of love. And it’s impossible not to smile (or even shed a tear) when you’re around it. They’re so relaxed together. So themselves. You can tell that Aaron loves every cell of Becky, and it makes her GLOW.
If Downtown Bethlehem was “nothing special” to Becky before, I’m sure it is now! I think we all felt changed after this day. Getting the opportunity to capture a love like theirs was such a blessing for me. It’s so inspiring, not only as a wedding photographer, but also as a wife and a mom.
I can’t wait to capture Becky and Aaron on their wedding day. There won’t be a single dry eye in the room!
