As a Pennsylvania wedding photographer, one of the most popular times of the year for photographing weddings is the fall season. Since this part of Pennsylvania, the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos are known for their lush trees… when the leaves being to change it’s simply incredible. I’m always so amazed by the wide array of colors that show up in the trees. So with that being said, Alysa and Mike couldn’t have chosen a more perfect time of year to get married.
The got married on a crisp November day at Lehigh University in Iacocca Hall in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The tower in this venue provided a beautiful overlook of all of Bethlehem. So photographing the getting ready moments in the observatory was really neat. Alysa and Mike’s wedding was also a bit non-traditional. Their wedding ceremony and reception took place in the morning, so it was a brunch wedding. It was so cool because it made for a really low key and intimate event that ended in the late afternoon. They even served some breakfast items like french toast and omelettes. Christian and I LOVED this because we love breakfast.
Anyway… getting side tracked by my appetite here. Ha!
Alysa wore a stunning lace long-sleeved wedding dress that complimented the setting and the gorgeous fall colors as well. The day was a bit chilly, and pretty windy, but the leaves were a bright yellow-orange color. Although the ceremony ended up being inside, we had to utilize such a stunning fall backdrop for as many photos as we could. So we took the wedding party, family, and bride and groom portraits outside, surrounded by the vibrant fall leaves.
When all the formal bridal party and family photos were taken, the bride and groom finally had a chance to soak it all it by themselves. Alysa and Mike were such a. Dream to photograph because you could tell that even though there were a few last minute changes on their wedding day, nothing could take away the pure love and joy they felt for each other on their wedding day. Mike was even a bit relieved to be able to enjoy the quiet moments with his new wife Alysa while we were taking photos. The had such natural chemistry and we photographed and filmed some romantic and beautiful moments between the two of them.
All in all, their wedding was stunning and filled with so much love. We’re so glad to have been able to photograph and film this special day. If you’re thinking about November for your wedding date, don’t think twice… fall weddings are so beautiful.
Here are some of our favorite moments from their wedding day, along with their wedding highlight video. Enjoy!
